Commuted collects nothing. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Every trip you record stays on your device.
Commuted records the routes you set up, the trips you tap, the fuel or charging prices you enter, your vehicle's efficiency, and the salary figure you optionally provide so it can price your time. All of it is written to a database on your device.
Nowhere. Commuted has no iCloud sync, no accounts and no networking code. It makes no outbound requests of any kind, not for analytics, not for crash reporting, and not for fuel prices. The data sits on the phone until you delete it or delete the app.
The one way data leaves is if you choose to export it. Settings has a JSON export that hands the file to the iOS share sheet, at which point where it goes is entirely up to you.
Commuted has no location entitlement. It cannot request your location, cannot read it in the background, and does not know where you are. Distances come from a number you typed once when you set up a route. That is a design constraint rather than a setting, so there is nothing here to grant or revoke.
If you enter an annual salary so Commuted can put a value on your hours, that number is stored on the device alongside everything else and is never transmitted. It exists only to multiply against your recorded hours. Leave it blank and Commuted counts the hours without pricing them.
You can delete any single leg by swiping it in History, or from the leg itself. Settings has a Data section with a reset that removes every trip, route, fill and setting, returning the app to how it was on the day you installed it.
Deleting the app removes the database with it. Since nothing was ever synced anywhere, there is no copy left behind in an account somewhere.
Commuted is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Since the app collects nothing, any change would most likely be a clarification rather than a new practice.
